Scleroderma is a rare autoimmune disease characterized by the hardening and tightening of the skin and connective tissues due to excessive collagen production. It can affect only the skin (localized scleroderma) or involve internal organs such as the lungs, heart, kidneys, and digestive tract (systemic sclerosis), leading to complications like breathing difficulties, digestive issues, and high blood pressure.
