Paget’s Disease of Bone

Paget’s disease of bone is a chronic disorder that disrupts the normal process of bone remodeling, causing bones to become enlarged, weakened, and misshapen. In this condition, the body breaks down old bone tissue and replaces it at an abnormally fast rate, leading to structurally abnormal bone that is more fragile and prone to fractures. It most commonly affects the pelvis, spine, skull, and legs, and may cause bone pain, joint stiffness, deformities, or nerve compression.
