Chrohn’s Disease

Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in which the immune system causes persistent inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, most commonly affecting the end of the small intestine (ileum) and the colon. The inflammation can extend through the full thickness of the bowel wall, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, weight loss, fatigue, and sometimes blood in the stool. Crohn’s disease typically follows a relapsing-remitting course, with periods of flare-ups and remission.
